Pageflakes
While there are many RSS feed readers available to internet users, Pageflakes has an approachable and attractive interface that teachers will enjoy.

Pages covering different topics (teaching blogs, student blogs, topics covered in class) can be created. Also, collections of feeds can be made public, allowing teams of teachers to share resources with each other or with parents and students.

Finally, Pageflakes provides users with the opportunity to blog in their RSS feed reader, combining information management and content creation---two 21st Century skills.

Voicethread Teaching on-screen and sharing the visual objects is another potential of the new web.

Voicethread
http://voicethread.com is a new site that allows a teacher (or anyone) to upload images, documents or videos and add narration, text and drawing elements on top of the photo slide show.

Here is a great example of how an art teacher uses the site. http://voicethread.com/view.php?b=3352. For an example of using this at the primary level, try the one from Grace Kat's 3rd Grade class in Sydney, Australia. Voice thread allows for synchronous or asynchronous discussions, annotation of images, interactive discussion, and illustration of instructional concepts in an online environment.

Noodletools Online bibliography. Lists can be shared with teachers so that resources lists can be kept track of http://noodletools.com/
Google Apps (I know it's already mentioned, but I think it is worth another entry) Sites: Great place to share learning experiences and knowledge. Can be individual or shared with others and collaboratively worked on. I also use for assessment records.
Docs: Online word processing, spreadsheets and presentations. Excellent for collaborative writing. My class' whole writing program is done on docs.
Calendar: great for keeping track of homework and class tasks. Can be shared or private.
Gmail: no need for explanation
Chat: encourage conversation through a medium that kids feel comfortable in.
Best of all, it's all secure and FREE!
